Hi! Remember me? I’m supposed to post pictures on a daily basis but somehow February flew right by me. Work was hectic and crazy and disappointing and a little depressing. Private things were fun and exciting and blissful and definitely interesting. I took a few photos here and there, but I don’t like to think up memories from 10+ days ago. So I figured I’d use this entry as a largely uncommented pic dumb and start fresh in March – this time hopefully more in time. ;)

So this was February.

I ate

20150201_225351 I spent a lot of time researching fun events in Berlin. I’m a huge fan of  storytelling events but they don’t seem to be a big thing around here. (Poetry slams have become very popular in Germany in the past years, but that’s not really my cup of tea.)
I went to Campfire storytelling which  features (semi-)established comedians telling funny (if not necessarily true) stories. The crowd was small and the show didn’t start until 10 pm (the bar had scheduled their weekly Tatort screening for the same time #thingsGermanslove), but I’m sure I’ll be back for the next event.

20150128_111206Though it took forever to get an appointment at Schöneberg city hall (and I only learned that you can go to any of Berlin’s many city halls to register), I am finally a Berliner! This means little besides being able to vote in municipal and federal elections (and probably a higher premium for my contents insurance), but I like the sound of it. :)

On a mission to explore the bar scene in our Kiez, my roommate and I went to train for cocktails. The bar is inside a former S-Bahn cart and has a great selection of drinks and very nice staff. (No food, though – sad.) Also, this place is a mere 10 minute walk from our house, so we’ll certainly be back.

I share my office with two amazing people – we’re different in a number of ways but get along extremely well. The three of us met up at Melbourne Canteen to catch up because we hadn’t really sat down to talk since Christmas break.
Also, I was happy to discover that this favorite bar of mine is now only a short bus ride away from home.

One of the reasons why I moved to Berlin was that I regularly conduct experiments at people’s homes. Today’s “commute” went along Bellevue Palace, where our president resides. It’s a beautiful area in general and I would have spent a lot more time exploring if it hadn’t rained cats and dogs. (Bonus points for the many police horses I saw. <3)

After buying a fridge for our new place (weee!), my roommate-to-be and I went to Suksan to celebrate our first big purchase together. (Besides, you know, the commission for the apartment.)
I went for my staple Pad See Ew, which was a little on the greasy side but delicious nonetheless. Definitely a recommendable place!
